Why Drink Tea Instead of Coffee?

Updated: Apr 12

We've all heard it, we should be drinking tea instead of coffee, but WHY?! Is it the taste, the idea that it makes us look fancy when drinking it out of a small saucer, or does it have magical properties that can help cure diseases?

While tea may not have magical properties to help cure diseases, it is full of antioxidants which are substances that can protect your cells from free radicals. Essentially, antioxidants can play a role in preventing heart disease, cancer, and other diseases. I'm not sure about you, but learning that drinking a glass of tea has the potential to prolong my life, I'd consider that to be full of magic, and I'll drink {tea} to that!

So these leaves can help prevent diseases, but what else is beneficial about them?!

Tea is beneficial in aiding with weight loss!

We've all been a part of some fancy diet that we can't stick to because... well, we're hungry! I've learned the hard way that it isn't about reaching a certain weight in a matter of a few days (which is super unhealthy!), but it's about investing in your body for the long haul!

Tea is something that we can all stick to as far as a lifestyle change because we aren't depriving our bodies of anything, rather, we are offering our bodies something great (also, it tastes great!!)

Tea aids in digestion by helping the body to metabolize rich foods and banish bloating. Tea offers significantly less caffeine than a coffee per cup, and WAAAYYYYY fewer calories than your drink at your favorite coffee shop... because tea has NO calories! Trying to lose weight doesn't have to deprive you of your morning pick-me-up, but rather simply switch from a cup of coffee to a healthy cup of tea!

In my opinion, this will not only help your body actually feel better (because it is better!), but it can help your opinion of your body which can definitely play a part in your mental health.

Next time you're reaching for that cup of joe, treat your body to something it will thank you for...a nice cup of tea!
